Water Regulations
1-day course, at Caerphilly site
This course is suitable for practising plumbers who already have knowledge of hot and cold water systems.
It’s also aimed at water inspectors and anyone involved with the installation, design or specification of water systems, or with buildings containing water systems.
Successful completion means you’re able to apply for approved contractor status, allowing you to self-certify your own work, removing delays and additional inspection costs.
It also allows you to install components such as RPZ valves and gives you a proven record of competency. The course involves paper-based assessment.

- Requirements for water fittings
- Water system design and installation
- Commissioning (flushing, testing and sterilization)
- Prevention of cross connection to unwholesome water
- Backflow prevention
- Cold water services
- WCs, flushing devices and urinals
- Sanitary appliances
- Water for outside use
